Celebrating 13th Anniversary!

We are delighted to share that eSewa has completed 13 years, and is stepping on its 14th year of journey. We are grateful to all of our customers, agents, merchants ,bank partners, sahakaris and microfinances for working with us and helping us continue as Nepal’s Number 1 digital payment gateway. We are proud to be holding more than 80% shares of the total online payment industry. Also, we are now a network of more than Fifty Lakh users, more than One Lakh Thirty Thousand Agents, more than Three Lakh Merchants, Fifty-one Banks, and more than Three Hundred Cooperatives. With the shared effort of each one of us, we are able to process more than 5Lakh Transactions on a daily basis.

We are vigilant in our goal of a Digital Nepal and understand the importance of making each digital payment secure in order to turn our dream into a reality. As such, we have launched a new feature this year i.e. Secured Transfer. Our customers can now send money using the “secured transfer” feature which will provide them the control to release the payment amount only after they have received the promised product/service from the vendor. Alternatively, it provides vendors with the assurance that the customer has initiated payment before initiating the delivery. In case of any issues, any one party can raise a claim and eSewa will help the parties resolve their issue with a nominal fee. Know more about secured transfer here. We have also successfully launched online payment for various government services this year, and believe that the inauguration of online payments for services such as Traffic fine payment, Passport, and VAT payment is a huge step towards the digitization of the overall Nepalese economy.
