Football is undoubtedly the most popular game with over 3.5 billion fans around the world. The origin of Football can be dated back to 19th century in England. Some of the most popular Football tournament includes UEFA European Championship, Copa America, etc.
5 countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka will be participating in this year’s South Asian Games 2019. SAG 2016’s silver medalist (Men’s) India along with Pakistan will not be participating in the Soth Asian Games Football.
During the South Asian Games 2016, Nepal successfully secured gold medal beating India and Bangladesh secured the bronze beating Maldives.
This year, Men’s tournament is starting from 2nd December, 2019 and will end on 10th December, 2019. Men’s tournament is scheduled at Dashrath Rangashala, Kathmandu, while women’s tournament is scheduled at Pokhara. Nepal’s Dashrath Rangashala, which faced severe damage in the 2015 earthquake has especially been renovated for the event. The tournament begins with Bangladesh competing against Bhutan at 1:00 p.m. on 2nd December, 2019.

SAG 2019 started on 27th November, 2019 while the opening ceremony at Rangashala took place on 1st December, 2019. Total of 7 countries are participating in this year’s SAG. As for how many games Nepal will win, let’s hope for maximum number.
