eSewa Reward Points to be managed with Fonepoints  

For how long have you been using eSewa? How many eSewa Reward Points do you have till now?  Have you ever redeemed your reward points?  

Have or haven’t previously, now it’s the most suitable time to redeem your reward points, because eSewa Reward Points are now to be managed by Fonepoints.  That’s means your eSewa Reward Points will be more redemption options for more exciting rewards.  

In this blog, we will discuss what does newly launched Fonepoints means for eSewa users and eSewa Reward Points. 

What is Reward Points? 

Reward Points” refers to form of incentive or loyalty program offered by eSewa to customers either directly through its loyalty program or through third party loyalty programs. These points are typically earned through specific transactions, such as making payments to various services, engaging with services, or participating in promotional activities.  

What is Fonepoints? 

Fonepoints is a dynamic digital loyalty management platform within the F1Soft Group, which empowers our users, valued partners, and extraordinary loyalty experiences with their loyalty points. 

Users can redeem loyalty points earn to unlock rewards and exclusive experiences with every transactions. Users earn points with every transactions on partner application and can use those points for discounts, freebies, and exclusive experiences, from multiple platforms all through Fonepoints, a unique loyalty program. 

Reward Points to be managed by Fonepoints 

eSewa Reward Points earned by eSewa users so far will be managed by Fonepoints from now onwards. The Fonepoints will be available in the same section of eSewa App where eSewa Reward Points appear, however user have to agree to terms and conditions to proceed  

• Login to your eSewa App  

• Click on “Reward Points” at top right side on homepage  

• Click on “Proceed” 

• Select “Confirm” on the prompt  

• Agree to Terms and Conditions and Continue  

Users who sign up for Fonepoints   

Consented users are the users who have embraced Fonepoints program i.e, who have agreed to manage their eSewa Reward Points with Fonepoints for more exciting reward options.    

Users can unlock a world of limitless possibilities with Fonepoints which will be a gateway to redeem for exciting prizes and extraordinary experiences.   

• Instant Benefits: Whether shopping casually for flowers and clothes or going to eat with your loved ones, users can experience instant rewards at partnered business outlets.    

• Diverse Redemption Options: With Fonepoints, users can unlock a wide range of redeemable options to transfer their Fonepoints into valuable rewards and savings including cashback and discounts.   

• Widespread Acceptance: Users can redeem the points at wide range of business facilities. With numerous merchant outlets to choose from, users will experience Fonepoints redemption experience to the fullest.   

While users used to earn eSewa Reward Points upon transactions previously, once signed up for Fonepoints program, users will start earning Fonepoints accordingly.  

Users who don’t sign up for Fonepoints   

Users who are yet to sign up for Fonepoints program will not be able to take advantage of loyalty programs and offers offered within Fonepoints network, but however can redeem the loyalty programs offered by eSewa through Reward Points.  Upon doing transactions, these users will earn Reward Points as Accrued Point instead of earning Fonepoints.  

Accrued points are Reward Points accumulated over time that cannot be redeemed but however, upon joining Fonepoints program, it will be managed by Fonepoints. Once those users join Fonepoints program, their total loyalty points will be the sum of their reward points and accrued points. Accrued points will appear with Reward Points section of eSewa App, on the top right side of eSewa homepage.    

Offers & Redemption    

Consented and non-consented both users can redeem the offers available inside eSewa App. Users who have agreed to participate in Fonepoints program and have their loyalty points managed by Fonepoints can participate in all offers and promotions.  

But the users who have not signed up for Fonepoints program (i.e, who are yet with eSewa Reward Points) can only take advantage of offers managed by eSewa.   

eSewa Reward Points Program Terms and Conditions 

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in the eSewa Reward Points Program (“Program”) managed by eSewa or any other third party authorized by eSewa. By participating in the Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. 

1. Program Overview:

1.1. The eSewa Reward Points Program is designed to reward customers for their loyalty and engagement with eSewa services. The word “Reward Points” may be altered or replaced by another word as deemed convenient and necessary by eSewa. 

2. Definitions:

In this Terms including the recital above, except where the context otherwise requires, the following words and expression means the following: 

a. “Customer” or “User” or “eSewa User” refers to individuals who utilize services provided by eSewa. 

b. “Reward Points” refers to form of incentive or loyalty program offered by eSewa to customers either directly through its loyalty program or through third party loyalty programs. These points are typically earned through specific actions or transactions, such as making purchases, engaging with services, or participating in promotional activities. 

c. “Accrued Points” refers to the rewards points accumulated over time through various transactions and engagements after 21st October, 2024.. 

d. “Program” refers to the eSewa Reward Points Program. 

e. “Company” or “eSewa” means eSewa Ltd. 

f. “Applicable Laws” refers to the national, provincial, regional, local law, statute or ordinance, or any rule, regulation, standard, judgement, order, injunction, decree, license or permits issued by any governmental authority of Nepal. 

g. “Validity Period” refers to the time period for the validity of the Reward Points as set out by the eSewa or any party authorized by eSewa. 

h. “Partner” refers to a third party authorized by eSewa to manage reward points on behalf of eSewa. 

3. Earning Reward Points:

Reward points may be earned through various qualifying activities as determined by eSewa. The allocation and calculation methodology of reward points shall be as set out by eSewa at its sole discretion from time to time without any notice to you. 

4. Validity Period:

4.1 eSewa reserves the right to determine the validity period of the reward points any time at its sole discretion. 

4.2 Customers can redeem reward points within the specified validity period only. 

4.3 Upon expiration of the validity period, unredeemed reward points shall be forfeited and deemed null and void. 

4.4 eSewa shall have no liability regarding any claims from the customer regarding the expiration of the reward points and the customer’s failure to utilize such reward points within the Validity Period. 

5. Redemption of Reward Points:

5.1 Customers can redeem the available reward points at eSewa platform or any other third-party platforms as recommended by eSewa. 

5.2 The availability of rewards and redemption options may be subject to change at the discretion of eSewa. 

5.3 eSewa reserves the right at its sole discretion, to impose limitations or restrictions on the redemption of reward points, including minimum redemption thresholds and eligibility criteria. 

5.4 When redeeming accrued points, user shall redeem the reward points at eSewa platform or any other third-party platforms as suggested by eSewa, in accordance with the management setup established by eSewa. Notwithstanding anything contained above, accrued data can only be redeemed after the reward points system is migrated to the third-party platform. 

5.5 Reward points cannot be exchanged for cash. 

6. Lapse of Points:

6.1 Reward points will be lapsed in the following cases: 

1. Deletion of eSewa Account: In the event of eSewa account deletion, all rewards points will be lapsed. eSewa bears no liability for this loss of reward points. However, users will have the opportunity to redeem all available points before deleting their account. 

1. Disqualified by law: If an eSewa user is found to have violated the rules, laws, and regulations of the country, their reward points will expire. 

6.2 Unlawful Accumulation of reward points: If the user has accumulated the reward points unlawfully or through any methods deemed inappropriate, eSewa retains the authority to suspend or lapse the accumulated reward points. 

6.3eSewa retains the authority to suspend the available reward points when fraud is reported or under investigation, or in cases involving participation in illegal activities. 

6.4eSewa holds no liability in the event that reward points are wrongfully redeemed or mishandled by a third party. 

7. Transfer of Points:

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, the rights, interest and obligations to the Reward Points may not be assigned or transferred by operation of law or otherwise, in whole or in part to any third party without written consent of eSewa unless otherwise specified in the laws of Nepal, any document or policy issued effectively by eSewa. 

8. Modification and Termination:

8.1 eSewa reserves the unrestricted right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason without prior notice. 

8.2 Any revisions or updates to the program will be reflected in the terms and conditions themselves or through any other media, and users are responsible for keeping themselves informed about these changes. 

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:

9.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nepal, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. 

9.2 Any disputes arising from or relating to the Program shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts/tribunals of Nepal. 

10. Third Party Partners:

10.1 eSewa reserves the right to partner with third party loyalty programs and loyalty management service providers at its sole discretion for the provision of issuance of reward points under this Program. 

10.2 In case, eSewa decides to partner with a third party loyalty program for the issuance of third party loyalty points as reward points and the User agrees to be bind by the terms and conditions set out by such third-party loyalty program. The User shall be solely responsible for being aware of and agreeing to the terms and conditions set out by such third party loyalty programs. The User shall indemnify eSewa of any liabilities or losses due to its breach of such terms and conditions set out by such third party loyalty programs. 

11. Third-Party Data Sharing:

By participating in the Program, you consent to the disclosure of the required information and data including but not limited to data such as your identification information and transactional details that eSewa collects in accordance with the Privacy Policy to third parties for redemption purposes as deemed necessary by eSewa or regulation of the third party. 

12. Indemnification:

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless eSewa and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fee) arising out of or related to your participation or your breach of these Terms in the Program. 

13. Entire Agreement:

These Terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and eSewa regarding the Program and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, representations, and understandings, whether oral or written.
