Teej is a three-days festival celebrated by Hindus in Nepal. The festival is observed especially by Nepalese women eating “dar” the first day, fasting the second day and breaking their fast with rishi panchami puja on the third day. Married women pray for the longevity of their husband’s life as well as for maintaining a happy and peaceful relations in the family. On the other hand, unmarried women pray for a good husband.
This year, on the occasion of Teej, we, eSewa planned to spread happiness among women by giving them Teej presents. For this, we collaborated with Yeti Airlines and Saurya Airlines. For 3 days leading up to Teej, i.e. 30th August and 1st September, our team distributed Teej gifts to 800+ women passengers of Yeti Airlines and Saurya Airlines at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.
Many of the passengers expressed happiness at getting the dar gift and also shared that they use eSewa regularly for purchasing flight tickets. In addition to spreading happiness among the passengers, our team also felt happy knowing that so many customers used our application for airlines ticketing.
Lastly, we would like to wish all the ladies Happy Teej. It is our festivals and celebrations that identify our country as Nepal, so, let’s keep the spirit of celebration alive.
