2015 Nepalese earthquake was a devastating affair for millions of Nepalese; almost 9,000 people lost their lives, 22000+ suffered injuries and hundreds of thousands of homes were destroyed leaving people homeless and in total poverty.
Citizens from all over Nepal united to help each other and rebuild our homes. During this time, Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire, popularly known as Dhurmus and Suntali, started their Dhurmus Suntali Foundation with the aim of helping earthquake victims. The Foundation started with building 20 houses for 90 community people at Kavre. Since then, they have been able to develop integrated model village for earthquake survivors and other underprivileged people of Sindhupalchowk, Bardibas, and other areas.
The Foundation has expanded its mission of helping earthquake survivors, and is currently working for disaster relief, women’s right, poverty elimination, health sector, and etcetera. Currently, they are working on constructing Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium and Namuna Nepal. Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium is being built at Chitwan and the construction is a work-in-progress.
As we all know, all of these development work require a large amount of funds. Keeping the necessity of funds in mind, eSewa has developed an online donation portal for the foundation. With this, we hope the foundation can collect funds from their supporters easily even at times when they cannot meet each other in person.
